Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, Bangalore


Vidhan Soudha, located at the North-Western end of Cubbon Park, now functions as a home of the state legislature. Back in 1956, it took four years, 5000 laborers and 1500 artisans to complete this magnificently striking building. How to reach there

Vidhan Soudha is located in Kasturba Road, Bangalore. The City Bangalore has access to Metros and Vidhan Soudha can be easily reached via Metro station, Cubbon Park in the purple line. Other than metros, it can be reached via local buses, cabs and own vehicles.


Visiting Hours

Vidhan Soudha can be visited when there is no assembly. One of the best times to visit is during the late evening hours when you can see the building naturally as well as when it is well lit once the sunsets.

The impressive structure is the largest legislative building in India. It is a specimen of the 'Neo-Dravidian' style of architecture. Popularly known as the 'Taj Mahal of South India'.
The Vidhan Soudha in Bangalore is a specimen of the 'Neo-Dravidian' style of architecture. Its design also has elements of Indo-Saracenic, Rajasthani Jharokha, and South Indian and Dravidian styles. The colossal building is surrounded by lush green lawns and gardens.

Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, Bangalore (VITM), a constituent unit of National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, was established in memory of Bharat Ratna Sir M.
