Government Aquarium, Bangalore


Bangalore Aquarium, also known as Government Aquarium, is the second-largest aquarium in India. It is located at the entrance of Cubbon Park in Bangalore, India, and was established in 1983. It has a variety of exotic cultivable as well as ornamental fish on display. It is very near to Vishweshwaraya museum. The aquarium is administered by the Karnataka State Government Department of Fisheries. Here are a few important and must-know pieces of information-

How to Reach

Government Museum is located in Kasturba Road, Bangalore. The City Bangalore has access to Metros and Government Aquarium can be easily reached via Metro station, Cubbon Park in the purple line. Other than metros, the aquarium can be reached via local buses, cabs and own vehicles.




Visit Duration

The Government Aquarium is spread on two floors and to full excursion of its premises, we would suggest you take 2-3 hours. 


Timing and fees

Government Aquarium is open on all the days from 10 AM to 5PM except Mondays and second Tuesdays. The entry fees are Rs. 15 which is subject to change.

  • Surrounding- The Government Aquarium is located inside Cubbon Park which is one of the major attractions in Bangalore. 
  • Food- One can easily find stalls or small shops outside the aquarium.
  • Education- Every species present in the aquarium is attached with a small description.


Cons

  • Unclean- The Aquarium is a bit unclean but the management is handling that part well.

  • Avoid going on weekends- To avoid the crowd of holiday-makers on weekends, we would advise people to visit this aquarium on weekdays and in off time.
