Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple, Vellore


Popularly known as Sripuram Golden Temple, it is an exotic architecture carved in gold. It is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and the temple is also called as 'Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple'. The prominent feature of the temple is the exotic gold plating. Interestingly, every little intricate sculpture in the gold is made manually. How to reach there


There are a few ways to reach the Golden Temple. One can take any intercity or private cab from Chennai or Bangalore to Vellore and the Temple is around 8kms from Vellore City.

History


Sripuram Golden Temple was built in 7 years which is a small-time span. It was inaugurated on 24th August'2007. The temple has a coating of gold internally as well as externally. The temple is completely decorated with different and unique sculptures of human in roof and columns.



Visitor Duration


The Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple is spread in an area of 100 acres. After entering the premise of the temple, the devotees have to follow a star-shaped path before arriving at the main temple.

Fees and Timing


The Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple is open from 4 AM till 8 PM. There is no fee for the visit. But if you require special darshan they will charge you accordingly. Free darshan will take around 2-3 hours, depending on the crowd.

  • Gold Coating- The temple is covered in the gold coating on a copper base with artistic designs gives a luxurious look to the temple.

  • Star Shaped- The star-shaped path which represents a chakra (religious symbol of the wheel) to reach the main temple.

  • Photography- Photography is not allowed inside the premises of the temple. One should submit all electronic gadgets before entering the temple.

  • Footwear- One should submit the footwear in the counter appropriately.

  • Decent Dress Code- Any decent dress is fine, it can be ethnic or normal pants and shirts. Though burgundies, midis or shorts are not allowed.
