How to reach

There are few ways to reach the beach, you can either take a boat or you can trek mountains. You can take a ferry from Om beach or God's Own Beach which is the easiest way. Another way to reach there is via trekking from God's Own Beach which will take about 25mins. God's Own Beach can be accessed from Gokarna by an autorickshaw or a two-wheeler.

The way for the trek

Trek

Pros

  • Adventurous trekking experience- The trek is through a dense jungle and the people usually trek through a temporary path. The travelers have to be careful of sharp edges of dried up plants and occasionally reptiles. If you are an avid trekker, you will love this and this will surely be one of the most adventurous treks!
  • Clean water at the beach- The water in the beach was crystal clear and the traveler can often spot it shinning from a distance on a bright afternoon.
  •  Camping space- There is ample of space by the side of the beach which usually people use for camping. People can bring their own tents and set them up or hire them at negotiable rates.  Legends say that decades ago there was racket of drugs by non-Indians and they spent more than one or two months there but it been removed now. and since then it is one of the most beautiful beaches in Gokarna.
  • Silent beach and less visited- The beach is very less visited and is closest to nature. All thanks to the inaccessibility by cars and dangerous and difficult trek.

Cons

  • Trek is dangerous-Trek to this beautiful beach is quite dangerous and we would advise caution while trekking if you are not a used-to trekker. Make sure you follow our 'Nirvana Travel Tips' later in the blog for some pro-tips for trekking.
  • Beach is not all sand!- Half of the beach is rocky and with that, the traveler must be cautious of a few aquatic animals hiding behind the rocks!
  • No water sports- The beach is known for its serenity. Here adventure can be only be found in trekking and not in water sports!
  • High tides- The tides on the beach can get quite high sometimes. We would suggest travelers against going far from shore unless you are a skilled swimmer.

Nirvana Travel Tips-

  • Wear proper shoes for trekking- Wear trekking shoes will make your confident while trekking high. We would suggest you all to take a small bag with you during the trek that will make sure a hasslefree trekking experience.
  • Carry water bottles- The trek is long and difficult. The difficulties can add up when trekking in on a sunny day of summers. We would advise people to carry water bottles. If forgotten, A shop, 10 mins from the start of the trek, can cover you and can be used to buy some water bottles and a few packed materials. And if you are lucky enough, you can find a few coconut water vendors on the beach also.
  • Trek during sunlight- Owing to the dangers of trekking on mountains, we would strongly suggest the travelers to trek only in sunlight and avoid at evening times. You can get to the beach before sunset if you want to camp and enjoy at the beach during night time.
